Dates

There is a party the evening of Friday, May 12. That's in DC, near Wesley Seminary's campus at 4500 Massachusetts Ave NW.

The wedding and an appetizer-buffet reception will be late Saturday afternoon, May 13, at Cherrydale UMC. The wedding is at 2, reception will be 3-5:30. Everything will be over by 6 or 7 on Saturday—no DJ’ed dance, no open bar. If you want some of that, come to the Friday party. Cherrydale, incidentally, is at 3701 Lorcom Lane, Arlington, VA.

There will be a reception in Kansas on May 26 in Rachel’s small home town of Abbyville, in the Abbyville Community Building (in Reno Country, 45 minutes from Hutchinson).

There will be another reception on June 10 in Minnesota (in Richfield at Veteran’s Memorial Park, under the pavilion).

Of all these, you’ll only have to dress up for the wedding on May 13.

Airplanes

The closest airport is Washington-Reagan (DCA). Next best is Dulles in Virginia. If you have to, you could also make it from Baltimore-Washington.

I have reserved tickets through Midwest Airlines. They are awesome—if you fly after 11:00 a.m., you get free chocolate chip cookies baked in-flight! If you fly with them you get 10% off your airline travel by entering the Morey-McIver wedding promotional code. Go here: http://www.midwestairlines.com/weddings; promo code is CMZ3343. You can fly in up to 7 days before the wedding and fly out up to 7 days after, giving you a May 6-20 window with which to enjoy DC.

The 10% discount is good if you buy 60 days before the wedding. If you buy less than 60 days out, it drops to 6% off or something. Buy your tickets before March 13!

In Minneapolis-St. Paul, note that Midwest uses the Humphrey Terminal, not the main one.

ATA is another cheap airline that flies out of Minneapolis.

Transportation

DC has a good subway system that will get you from National Airport to within a 20 minute walk of our Friday night party location. Virginia has a horrible transportation system, so you will need to rent a car or share one to attend the wedding ceremony itself.

Our church is a good 45-minute walk from the Clarendon metro stop in Virginia. We recommend renting a car at least for Saturday, May 13.

Lodging

You have many lodging options. We have NOT reserved a bloc of rooms anywhere because the cheapest place that had 15 rooms was $120 per night. You can find motels for $70 and some Bed and Breakfasts advertise rates as low as $35. A DC youth hostel is only $20 for a dorm-style accommodation. The further you are in the ‘burbs, the cheaper a room will be.

The wedding will be at 3701 Lorcom Lane, Arlington, VA. The closest metro is Clarendon, but that’s not very close.

The party will be at 4500 Massachusetts Av NW, Washington, DC, near the Tenleytown/American University Metro line.

Gifts

We are registered through the I Do Foundation.

If you buy online, starting at that site and THEN click on the stores where we’re really registered, 3-8% of your purchase is donated to one of three charities: Habitat for Humanity International, the United Methodist Committee on Relief, and the Global AIDS Alliance.

For now, let's ship the gifts to Jerad's Dad's address. That's:
